Drip and Drivel, 2025 - Beeler Gallery, Columbus, OH

This activated sculpture adapts a solar-powered water distilling system to create an absurd simulation of a critical but largely invisible environmental process. Dirty water is fed into a heated reflective glass enclosure, where it evaporates and then condenses, leaving behind sediment and impurities. The distilled water is collected and then directed to a reflective basin, where a mechanized arm gently dips into the water and then arcs through the space. This playful gesture redistributes the liquid back into the atmosphere, while making an awkward attempt at ritual cleansing.
